Norse warrior goddess and goddess of love and lust. After battle she, with the Valkyries, walks amongst the fallen and takes her pick of the dead. The woman who commissioned this painting asked for Freyja to be shown dark-haired - I rather see her as red-haired. In the background are animals associated with her; a hawk, a pig, a swallow and a cat.
